Thierry Abribat, PhD, co-Founder & President A Doctor in Veterinary Medicine and a PhD from the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse, France, Thierry began his career at Sanofi-Recherche in Toulouse, France, then spent several years as a researcher at the University of Montreal and as a consultant for several biopharmaceutical companies, before joining the biotech industry. He notably held several executive positions at Theratechnologies (TH.TO), a Montreal-based publicly traded biopharmaceutical company, including those of Chief Scientific Officer and Executive Vice-President, Business Development. He then joined OPi (Lyon, France) in February 2005 as CEO and acting VP Research and Development, which he left in March 2007 when OPi SA was acquired by EUSA Pharma Inc. He has authored or co-authored 9 patents and more than 90 scientific publications and communications, has taken part to several financing rounds and has signed and managed multiple business and commercial partnerships with European, North American and Japanese pharmaceutical companies.

André de Villers, MD, co-Founder and Member of the Board Dr. de Villers has been closely involved in the emergence of the biotechnology sector in Quebec. From 1988 to 1993, he created and successfully managed several R&D venture capital companies, generating an investment totalling $250 million. In 1993, Dr. de Villers founded Theratechnologies and successively held the positions of President and Director of R&D, President and General Manager, and President and CEO and Vice Chairman of the Board until June 2004. During that period, Dr. de Villers played a key role in the creation of Andromed, Ecopia BioSciences and Celmed BioSciences. From 2004 to 2006, he was Chairman of the board and CEO of Celmed Bioscience, which he eventually merged with a Kiadis bv, a Dutch biotechnology company. From November 1999 to 2003, Dr. de Villers was also Chairman of the Biopharmaceutical Companies Committee of Canada’s Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies (Rx&D) and a member of its Board of directors. He is presently a member of Montreal International's Montreal Metropolitain Life Sciences Committee and member of the Board of several companies, including TSO3, Panacis and Valchum.

Gilles Alberici, PharmD, PhD, Member of the Board Gilles Alberici has more than 20 years experience in the European pharmaceutical industry as a successful entrepreneur. He obtained his PharmD (1981) from Paris University, and then was resident and researcher in immunology in one of the French leading academic research hospital (Institut Gustave-Roussy) where he received his PhD (immunotoxicology). Gilles then served as Development and Manufacturing Director of biological agents in the Mérieux Group. He founded (1994) and managed IMTIX, a Pasteur-Mérieux business unit dedicated to transplantation and haematology. He was then President of IMTIX-SangStat, the European affiliate of SangStat, where he managed more than 140 people in 12 different countries and IMTIX-Sangstat was then acquired by Genzyme. He then founded OPi SA in September 1999, a company developing and commercializing hospital drugs for the treatment of rare and severe diseases. The company was acquired in March 2007 by EUSA Pharma Inc. Gilles is the author of more than 40 publications and 4 issued patents.
