ALIZÉ PHARMA COMPLETES A FINANCING ROUND AND STRENGTHENS ITS BOARD

Lyon, September 18, 2007 - Alizé Pharma SAS, a privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on metabolic disorders, announced today that it has secured a EUR 0.7 million financing. The proceeds will be used to reach key value-creating milestones in the next 12 months for its AZP-01 program in the field of diabetes.

Participating investors included Octalfa SAS, a French holding company owned by Gilles Alberici, PhD, former Founder and President of OPi SA; and CEMA Inc., a Canadian holding company owned by André de Villers, MD, former Founder, President & CEO of Theratechnologies Inc (TH.TO) and Celmed Biosciences Inc.

The Company also announced that Gilles Alberici was appointed to its Board, joining André de Villers and Thierry Abribat. On the scientific and clinical sides, the Company is structured with a scientific committee composed of Pr. AJ Van der Lely, Head of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine, Erasmus Medical Center, Rotterdam and Pr. Ezio Ghigo, Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Torino.

Founded in 2007, Alizé Pharma SAS (www.alz-pharma.com) is a biopharmaceutical company specialized in the development of innovative therapeutics for the treatment of metabolic diseases. Its first program, AZP-01, consists in the development of peptides derived from a naturally occurring hormone called unacylated ghrelin, in type I and type II diabetes. Additional animal studies and proof-of-concept clinical trials are part of the short-term objectives in order to unlock the clinical potential of this new therapeutic class.
